Now I Really Feel Like I’m Her Mom
I will admit, Jianna hasn’t called me “mom” since she started babbling. Well, she’s said “mamama” to me before, but I think she was referring to milk then cause she only said it when she wanted to feed. And then she used it again recently to refer to water. I’ve been telling JM to call me “Mommy” more often and to ask Jianna to call me so she can get used to it, but to no avail, it seemed. Then just tonight, as I was cleaning up after she had dinner, she came to me by the sink and said “momomom”. It wasn’t her usual “mamamam” but I still offered her her sippy cup. But then she shook her head and said again “momomom” and ran off. I later realized — she just called me mom! Yahoo!
Such A Little Doll
The one nice thing about having a little girl as opposed to a little boy is that you could dress her up, play with her like a doll. When I’m bored, I’d play dress up with Jianna. Last week, I dressed her up in my top, added on a pair of shades and she loved it! After that, I wrapped her up in one of my shawls, draping it in a way that it would look like a dress. Then she posed for the camera. This afternoon, we played make-up. She’s been fascinated with my make-up for weeks now, trying to grab them when I’m using them. So I finally gave her a brush and one of my blusher bottles. She started brushing over her eyes, on her cheeks, then her lips. When I came over and told her to close her eyes so I could brush, she did so too! Then we both looked at the mirror and she had a wide grin on her face. She’s such a doll!
She’s My Funny Girl
I love it so much when Jianna and I have our laughing jags. We just laugh for no reason. Sometimes she’d look at me in a teasing way, then I’d start to snicker and she’d start laughing and I’d laugh too. Last night while we were feeding, she kept on making those snickering noises and if I so much as raise my brow, she starts giggling. We kept at it for quite a while, I was almost scared she wouldn’t be able to settle to sleep. When I ask her “Who’s My’s Funny Girl?”, she’d raise her arm and shout out her version of “Jianna! Yehey!”
And Then There Is Silence
There are moments when we just sit on the couch and watch TV. We just sit there quietly. She would lean on me and fiddle with her feet. Sometimes she’d look up and I’d smile at her and then we’d go back to watching TV again. When she learned to kiss, she would sometimes just suddenly try to reach for my cheek to give me a kiss. Oh how I love her!
